When the bottom drops out

Well, the phrase “When it rains, it pours” is certainly true.  We’ve had one of those days.

I have some sick kids.  That is never fun.

The contract fell through on the house we are selling.  The buyer woke up one morning and decided that the taxes were too high.  So, they terminated our contract with only a couple days left of their option period.

That means that we lose our house here.  The wonderful house that we searched and searched to find.  Nope.  We aren’t buying it.  We get to sign lots of termination papers tomorrow.

This means that we don’t know what we’re doing.  We’re in an apartment in a new city where we know no one and we don’t currently have a place to go.  I thought I’d be all moved in by August 1st.  That will never happen now.

Frustrated and upset could not even begin to describe how we feel.

So, that’s our story.  The kids may or may not have chicken pox.  It’s either that or some other weird virus.  And we have a house we can’t sell and one we can’t buy.

It’s amazing how much can change in a day.  I think I may not get out of bed tomorrow.  I don’t even want to know what it will bring.

  1. Thank you. Right now we're just trying to decide what to do next. Not a fun place to be. So many tough decisions to make in the next 24 hours.

  2. Oh Lexi, I am so sorry! How disappointing! Praying that the Lord will give you peace and trusting that He will lead you to the perfect situation! Until then…chocolate helps! 😉 HUGS!

  3. This stinks. Especially since the apartment you're in isn't up to the standard it should be.

It could be that God is protecting you from something with the new home. You just never know.

I hope you get some peace in this situation. If God will give you peace and contentment, right where you are, it will all have a great ending.

  4. Thanks! We know it's for a reason but it's hard not knowing why.

We also don't know the direction we should take now. This weekend we're going to continue to discuss our options.

So, please pray that we would have direction.
